In September of 2021 Hubert and Somer Maples applied to Connected Hearts’ adoption funding program to help them adopt a little girl from Colombia, named Valery. Valery has numerous medical conditions including cerebral palsy, epilepsy and a traumatic brain injury. The Maples were excited to adopt Valery, but lacked the funds to complete her adoption. In addition to regular adoption expenses, the Maples also incurred several unexpected costs due to Covid. The Maples said the following about their adoption expenses: “Our adoption ended up being almost $50,000, so without (financial assistance) there is no way we would have been able to bring Valery home.”
The Maples arrived home with Valery this summer! In regards to Valery coming home, the Maples said, “She is an incredible little girl who just needed a family. She has been home just a short time, but she is already doing so well here in the United States. We have gotten her the medical care she needed, and will continue to as long as she needs it. She is talking so much more, and is learning new things everyday. Thank you so much for helping us adopt our sweet girl. She is a miracle and we can't wait to see what the future holds for her.”
Thank you for your support of Connected Hearts Ministry, and for giving Valery the love of a forever family!
