The Smiths brought Kaizer home—and now they’re adopting again!

One of the greatest joys of serving adoptive families is seeing what happens long after adoption day.

Last year, because of your generosity, the Smith family raised more than $49,000 through Connected Hearts Ministry's adoption funding program, to bring home their son Kaizer.

Today, we're excited to share that their adoption has been finalized...

...and they're adopting again!



The Smiths never imagined their first adoption journey would take so many turns, but it came together perfectly—just as God planned, bringing them the son meant for their family.

"Our adoption journey rarely unfolded the way we expected. We began with plans to adopt internationally, then shifted to working with a new agency in hopes of adopting an infant domestically. In the end, our path led us to a four-year-old boy living only a few hours away."

Like many adoptive families, their story included unexpected turns and challenges, but also incredible joy.

"Bringing our son home was not without challenges, but those early days were also marked by moments of profound joy and gratitude. Time and again, we found ourselves reflecting on the remarkable path that brought us together and the privilege of becoming his family."

Looking back, they shared what adoption has meant to them:



"Adoption has always been the plan... To actually be able to adopt has been a humbling experience that has reminded us how much love Jesus has for us and how His plans are always bigger and better than we could ever dream of on our own."

Today, Kaizer is thriving. He loves soccer, baseball, swimming, riding his bike, and spending time with his sister.

One moment, in particular, reminds them just how far he's come.

"Watching our son graduate Pre-K... it was surreal to think about all the progress he's made over the last year and how it really is a miracle that he's a part of our family."

Although their first adoption came with unexpected turns and challenges, it was all worth it to bring Kaizer into their family. Now, they’re preparing to adopt again!

"Jesus has been so faithful and has sustained us through those challenges. Ultimately, we feel that Jesus has called us to pursue adoption again."

When asked about their experience with Connected Hearts Ministry, their response was incredibly encouraging.

"Connected Hearts helped us fundraise most of our adoption. They checked in with us consistently, provided resources, communicated with our agency, encouraged us, and we truly would not have been able to make it through the process without Connected Hearts."

Those words are a reflection of what your support makes possible.

Because of your generosity, Kaizer found a forever family.

Now another child has the opportunity to experience that same love.

The Smith family wanted to leave this message for everyone who has supported families like theirs:

"We fundraised 90% of our first adoption, and we wouldn't have been able to adopt with only our financial resources. Connected Hearts does incredible work and is worthy of your support. Financially supporting Connected Hearts or a family who is adopting allows a beautiful community to be formed around that adoptive family."
