She brings our family so much joy!
Sometimes the best way to show what your generosity makes possible is simply to let a family tell you what life looks like after their child comes home.
When Erik and Rebecca Johnson began their adoption journey to India, the Connected Hearts community came alongside their family and helped raise more than $8,000 toward bringing their daughter home.
Today, Priya has been home for almost eight months, and we wanted to share this beautiful update from her mom:
“Honestly, I can’t believe she has been home for almost 8 months! They have flown by and we have seen Priya grow so much. What a gift she is!
We have seen her little personality blossom into one that is hilarious, confident, constantly signing and dancing and full of vibrancy.
She has learned to speak a lot of English words and understands pretty much everything we tell her. She is healthy, loves to eat mostly everything and has transitioned very well to sleeping in her crib in the room she shares with her big sister.
She loves dogs (from afar ha), jumping on our trampoline, Mickey Mouse and taking care of her many baby dolls. We spent a lot of this summer at the beach on Lake Michigan and she is officially a beach lover, like her mom :)”

Priya will turn two on October 2nd, and her siblings are excited to celebrate her very first birthday home with her family. Instead of spending her birthday in an orphanage, we are rejoicing that Priya will be celebrating her birthday with her forever family!
