Because of You, Benjamin Is Home!

We are so excited to share a joyful update — Benjamin is home!

After months of waiting, paperwork, and countless steps of faith, the Breigs were finally able to bring Benjamin home at the end of last year.

The Breigs shared:

“It was quite the whirlwind, but we were so happy to spend a wonderful Christmas introducing Benjamin in the U.S. to all his extended family members.”

Years ago in Uganda, while serving at the children’s home where he lived, the Breigs met a joyful little boy named Benjamin, whom everyone lovingly called Benja. What began as a mission trip quickly became a calling that would change all of their lives. The Breigs knew that Benja was meant to be their son, and in faith, they began the adoption journey to bring him home.

Benjamin has hydrocephalus, along with developmental, motor, and speech delays. Yet through every challenge, his joy has never faded.

As the Breigs described him:

“Despite the challenges that Benja has experienced and continues to work through, he is the most joyful child. He is always singing, laughing, and finding ways to make those around him smile.”

The Breigs relocated to Uganda and lived there for the past two and a half years in order to complete the required fostering process.

During that time, Benjamin has been living with the Breigs in Uganda, where he has thrived in a stable, loving home environment. With one-on-one care, he learned to write his name, sound out words, read short stories, and grow in confidence and independence.

After months of faith-filled waiting, the Breigs are now home in the U.S., and Benjamin is adjusting beautifully. The Breigs said,

“He tells us that he really likes America, especially the nice roads and yummy food!”

Most importantly, Benjamin is safe, deeply loved, and finally home with his forever family.

Through Connected Hearts Ministry, over $8,000 was raised to help bring Benjamin home. With grateful hearts, the Breig family shared:

“Our family is so incredibly grateful for the fundraising help that you provided to make Benjamin’s adoption possible.”
