From the very beginning of Scripture, God makes His heart for the fatherless unmistakably clear. He calls His people to defend, protect, and love those who have no family — because that’s exactly what He does for us.
Psalm 68:5 tells us, “A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling.”
When we care for the fatherless, we reflect the very nature of our Heavenly Father.
✨ God’s Heart Has Always Been for the Vulnerable
All throughout Scripture, we see God’s deep concern for orphans, widows, and the oppressed.
Deuteronomy 10:18 says, “He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing.”
God doesn’t just see their need — He moves toward it with compassion.
As His children, we are called to do the same.
James 1:27 reminds us that “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress.”
True faith is not just what we believe — it’s how we love.
Why It Matters
When a child is without a family, they face more than loneliness — they face deep uncertainty about their future.
By caring for the fatherless, we step into that gap with the love and stability of Christ Himself. For Christians, this isn’t just charity. It’s obedience.
It’s a response to God’s love for us — love that reached into our own brokenness and made us His children.
How Connected Hearts Ministry Lives Out This Calling
At Connected Hearts Ministry, we believe that every Christian can play a role in God’s mission to care for the fatherless.
Through our work, we:
Help orphans find forever families through adoption support and funding.
Provide for the needs of vulnerable children through our foster care programs.
Offer life-saving medical care for orphans in need of urgent treatment.
Invite individuals, churches, and communities to pray, give, and advocate for children waiting to belong.
Every story of a child finding a home is a reflection of God’s heart at work — His love made visible through His people.
🙌 Together, We Can Reflect God’s Love
We care for the fatherless because He first cared for us.
When we open our hearts and hands to children in need, we’re not just meeting physical needs — we’re displaying the Gospel to the world.
Every prayer, every donation, every act of advocacy is a small echo of God’s great love — the kind of love that transforms lives and families forever.
